Privacy policy

Ether Media is committed to protecting your personal data. This policy explains how we handle your data, in line with the EU General Data Protection Regulation 2016/679 (GDPR) and applicable Hungarian law. This English version is provided for convenience; in case of any discrepancy, the Hungarian version prevails.

1. Data controller

2. What data do we collect?

Contact form. On the contact page you provide the following: full name, email address, phone number, company name (optional), the topic or topics you choose, and the text of your message.

The form does not send any data to the website's server: the completed fields open a pre-written email in your own email app, which you then send to us. We therefore receive the data by email and store it in our email system.

Automatically collected data. When you visit the website, the server may log your IP address, browser type and the time of your visit. This data is used solely for security and operational purposes. The website is hosted by Tarhely.Eu Kft. (1144 Budapest, Ormánság u. 4. X. em. 241., Hungary).

3. Purpose and legal basis

Purpose: replying to your enquiry, preparing a project proposal, and establishing a business relationship.

Legal basis: your consent under Article 6(1)(a) GDPR, which you give by ticking the checkbox on the form, and steps taken prior to entering into a contract under point (b). You may withdraw your consent at any time; this does not affect the lawfulness of processing before the withdrawal.

4. Retention period

We keep contact data for no more than 2 years after your enquiry is closed, unless a legal obligation requires a longer retention period, or you ask us to delete it.

5. Data transfers

We do not pass your data on to third parties, except where required by law, or to the providers of our email and hosting services acting as data processors, and only to the extent necessary to provide the service. We do not transfer your data outside the European Union.

6. Cookies and data stored in the browser

Functional storage. We remember the choice you make on the cookie bar in your browser's own storage (localStorage), so we don't ask you again. This data never leaves your device, and you can remove it at any time by clearing your browser data.

Analytics. The website currently uses no analytics or marketing cookies. If we introduce any in the future, it will only be with your consent, and we will update this policy beforehand.

7. Fonts

The website loads the Montserrat font from Google Fonts. To do so, your browser connects to Google's servers, which may allow Google to learn your IP address. You can read about how Google handles data in its own privacy policy.

8. Your rights

Under the GDPR, you have the right to request information about the data we hold about you, to have inaccurate data corrected, to have your data erased, to restrict processing, to receive your data in a machine-readable format, and to object to processing.

If you believe that our processing does not comply with the law, you can lodge a complaint with the Hungarian National Authority for Data Protection and Freedom of Information (NAIH, naih.hu), or turn to the courts.

9. Data security

We use technical and organisational measures to protect your data from unauthorised access, alteration, deletion and disclosure. Data is transmitted with SSL/TLS encryption.

We reserve the right to amend this policy. We will inform visitors of significant changes on this page, and the date of the update is shown at the top of the page.
